It’s hard to believe we only have two days left in 2018! And what a year it has been, both personally and professionally.
I always take some time during these last few days of the year to reflect on my resolutions from the previous year and come up with some goals for the year ahead. It might be a little old hat, but beginnings and endings feel like a chance to change habits that don’t sit well with us any longer – so why not take the opportunity?
Since I know I’m not alone, this year I have a little trick for anyone who is having trouble coming up with a good New Year’s resolution…
If there isn’t something specific that has come to mind yet, or if your resolution is something too cliché that you’ve done before (and possibly failed) that you are tired of in concept before you even enter 2019..! Well try this on for size!
Start by choosing one word from the list below that has the most significance for you.
Think of what exactly that word means to you now, and what it could mean for you in the future. Form a specific resolution to focus on for 2019 based on that word – or resolve to focus on that trait for the year ahead.
The word that I chose from the list was elegant. My resolution is to make 2019 my most elegant year yet. Elegance is an attitude; whether it means dressing with style no matter the dress code, or practicing grace under pressure. I choose to adopt elegance, in my thoughts, behaviours, and of course, my clothes!
I do so believe in manifestation – what you resolve to do, when you really mean it, and what you put out into the universe has a way of finding its way to you in the most curious and magical of ways. So open yourself up to allow positive energy to carry you into the new year, and let go of anything that no longer serves you!
I hope all have had a wonderful and safe christmas period, and are open to the possibilities a new year can bring!
